Belarus and Bangladesh: status and prospects of military-technical cooperation
On October 7-9, 2019 Minsk hosted the 2nd Session of the Joint Belarus Bangladesh Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation, which was attended by the members of Belarusian and Bangladesh Parties of the Commission, representatives of the ministries, departments, companies of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
During the Session, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, both Parties exchanged their views on all the issues of cooperation in military technical field.
The progress regarding the implementation of the decisions made during the first session was studied. The Parties highlighted the importance of the performed work, determined priority directions of further bilateral cooperation, and developed the approaches to solve the current tasks.
The Parties noted the positive results and good dynamics of interaction, proved mutual interest in further military technical cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. During its stay, the Bangladesh delegation visited a number of companies under the State Authority for Military Industry. This visit allowed our guests to familiarize with the capabilities and potential of Belarusian military industrial companies.
The Minutes were signed upon the results of common work: on the behalf of the Republic of Belarus – by First Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry, Chairman of the Belarusian Side of the Commission Igor Demidenko; on the behalf of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh – by Lieutenant General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The partners from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh expressed their interest regarding the repair and the upgrade of aircraft and Air Defense equipment, experience exchange and training of military technical specialists.
The Commission decided to hold the 3rd Session of the Joint Belarus Bangladesh Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation in 2020 in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
