FIRST MEETING OF MILEX-2021 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ORGANIZING COMMITTEE HELD IN THE STATE AUTHORITY FOR MILITARY INDUSTRY
On 27.01.2021, Igor Demidenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry and Deputy Chairman of MILEX-2021 organizing committee chaired its first meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of concerned ministries and organizations, directorates of SAMI central administration, defense exporting companies and BelExpo National Exhibition Center.
In the introductory speech, Mr. Demidenko covered aims and purposes of the exhibition as well as its main events. He informed the participants that the 9th International Scientific Conference on Military Solutions, Defense, Security and Dual-Purpose Technologies will be held during the exhibition.
Mr. Demidenko noted the increased importance of the exhibition in the light of worldwide coronavirus pandemic that hinders economic development in most countries of the world and constraints the dynamics of military-technical cooperation.
MILEX-2021 exhibition is organized by the State Authority for Military Industry, Belarusian Ministry of Defense and BelExpo National Exhibition Center. General sponsor of the exhibition – SFTUE “Belspetsvneshtechnika”.
Participants of the meeting outlined the main areas of work, discussed the plan of the exhibition and elaborated the framework for interaction aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the preparations. Representatives of BelExpo Center informed the participants on status of the preparatory activities.
In conclusion to the meeting, Mr. Demidenko noted that the exhibition shall feature new or perspective samples of weaponry and military equipment that have high demand in international military markets and demonstrate the capabilities of Belarusian defense industry. These exhibits shall comply with the main fields of the Development Strategy of the State Defense Industry until 2025, embodying practical results of scientific, industrial and multisectoral cooperation. Mr. Demidenko emphasized that other Belarusian enterprises and companies involved in production of dual-purpose items also have wide possibilities for participation in MILEX-2021.
Participants of the meeting coordinated steps and activities for further arrangement of the preparations for the exhibition.
This year, the International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery marks the 10th anniversary. It will be held in Minsk within June 23-26, 2021.
The interagency organizing committee of the exhibition was established by decree of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus dd. 30.06.2020, which also defined the timeline of MILEX-2021.
