Minsk to Host the 10th Anniversary Exhibition MILEX from 23 to 26 June 2021
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko by his order No. 143r dated 30 June 2020 approved the proposal of the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry for the dates of the exhibition, as well as set up an interdepartmental organising committee, which is responsible for preparing and holding the event.
The organising committee, headed by Dmitry Pantus, Minister of State Authority for Military Industry, includes representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, State Authority for Military Industry and a number of its companies, officials from security agencies, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Health Ministry, Industry Ministry, and Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as representatives of a number of educational institutions, exhibition and tourism organisations.
The MILEX exhibition is an important link in the international military-technical cooperation of Belarus with other countries. The event is becoming an increasingly recognisable exhibition brand in the field of armaments and military equipment, and one of the largest military forums in the East European region. Whereas in 2001 the exhibition gathered 119 participants from 17 countries, in 2019, MILEX attracted 170 exhibitors, 59 official delegations from 35 countries, ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary, representatives of diplomatic missions from 31 countries, military attachés from 27 countries, and more than 200 business delegations from 53 countries.
During the exhibition, 23 agreements were signed (memoranda, protocols of intent) on the development of military-technical cooperation with a number of countries; 27 contracts and 4 additional agreements to contracts were concluded for a total amount of about $200 million.
MILEX sees a wide range of high-tech innovative solutions which are developed by Belarusian designers, scientists and engineers and based on the latest information and telecommunication technologies.
Due to their high quality, reliability and technical parameters, many of the weapons and military technologies exhibited at MILEX are in demand in the global arms market.
