Aleksander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus, carried out a meeting and heard out a report of Roman Golovchenko, the Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus on September 23. At the meeting the President stated that Belarus has appeared in a hot political standpoint and has to take measures to protect its security.

The President asked about the current state of affairs at the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry and its major areas of focus.

Roman Golovchenko told the President that the instructions are fulfilled this year. The enterprises included in the system of the State Authority for Military Industry are profitable and the salaries are gradually rising.

More than 15,000 people are currently working at the enterprises of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic of Belarus and this number is constantly increasing. “We estimate that about 30,000 people work in the system. This number is constantly growing and new job opportunities are created. New dynamically developing enterprises involved in high-tech developments. Therefore, young people who have technical background can fulfil their potential not only in the High-Tech Park, but in the defense sector also,” – Roman Golovchenko added.

The President also asked about the current development of enterprises in relation to which he had given instructions. In particular, these are OJSC “558 Aircraft Repair Plant” in Baranovichi, OJSC “Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant”, OJSC “Tekhnika Svyazi” in Baran.

“Dynamics is quite positive. The tasks of enterprises social and economic development are being fulfilled. Modernization programs are being implemented, indicators are within the established standards. The enterprises included in the system of the State Authority for Military Industry are profitable, scope of production and export as well as salaries are constantly on the rise”, – Roman  Golovchenko mentioned.

According to the results of 7 months of 2019 the growth rate of industrial production at OJSC “Tekhnika Svyazi” was 128.5%, the export growth rate was 185.6%, the industrial production growth rate at OJSC “Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant” was 208.1%, export growth rate (including special exporters) was 200.9%. The monthly salary at both enterprises has already exceeded 1000 rubles.

According to the results of 2019 it is planned to achieve positive development dynamics at OJSC “558 Aircraft Repair Plant” in Baranovichi. The scope of industrial production planned for 2019 will reach 109.2% compared to the level of last year, export of the goods and services will reach about 170 million dollars. The plant operates profitably, the salary of employees today exceeds 1400 rubles.

The State Authority for Military Industry expects that exports of defense products will increase slightly by the end of the year compared to the previous year.

Export of goods and services exceeded 1 billion USD in 2018. In 2017 military products were exported to 69 countries, then in 2018 - to 76 countries already. In the first half of 2019 military products marked “Made in Belarus” mark were supplied to 78 countries.

According to the results of 2019 it is planned to maintain positive growth trend in the export of products and services at the level of 101 - 102% compared to the previous year with positive balance in trade.
