SFTUE "Belspetsvneshtechnika" will showcase SAPPHIRE MGU light multi-purpose grenade launcher system at the 11th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery Milex-2023
SAPPHIRE MGU grenade launcher system comprises:
- transport-launching tube with grenade.
- stand-alone launcher.
The grenade launcher system can optionally be equipped with a fire control device.
Tactical and technical characteristics:
- Caliber – 61 mm.
- Fire range:
- effective – 500 m;
- maximum – 1000 m.
- Warhead – multi-purpose (HE squashing, fragmentation + hollow charge, fragmentation).
- Length – 750 mm.
- Weight – 4.5 kg.
- Warhead power:
breach:
- through reinforced concrete wall with a thickness of up to 150 mm;
- through brick wall with a thickness of up to 250 mm.
penetration of homogeneous steel armor up to 200 mm;
fragmentation effect – kill zone for manpower wearing personal body armor is up to 7 m.
Features:
- multi-purpose warhead (HE-fragmentation, hollow charge fragmentation);
- transport-launching tube body and grenade are made of composite materials.
- programmable electronic fuse providing the following operating modes:
- contact;
- assault;
- trajectory detonation.
- new high-energy engine with minimum thrust variation for shooting from indoors.
- firing single rounds or a cluster of up to four rounds depending on the fighter's physical abilities.
Options for adapting SAPPHIRE MGU grenade launcher system to different carriers will also be presented:
- to Quadro-1400 unmanned aerial strike system;
- to a remotely-controlled robotized ground vehicle equipped with a rotary platform with a cluster-type package of 16 SAPPHIRE MGU grenade launcher systems.
