SAMI participated in the Vietnam Defence Expo 2024
A delegation from the Belarusian arms authority, led by Dmitry Pantus, the Minister of the State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI), participated in the VIETNAM DEFENCE EXPO 2024, held from December 19 to 22, 2024, in Hanoi.
During the forum, Dmitry Pantus held official talks with Colonel General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, the Minister of Defence of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. They discussed ongoing cooperation in the military-technical sector and explored avenues for further expansion. Minister Pantus also invited Colonel General Outhakaysone to attend the MILEX-2025 international exhibition in Minsk as a guest of honor.
Following a meeting with Sajeev Kumar, the Indian Deputy Defence Minister for Defence Industry, the parties reviewed and updated the plan for military-technical cooperation between Belarus and India, identifying promising areas for future collaboration.
During a meeting with the Director General of the Export Centre of the Iranian Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Support, both sides acknowledged the high level of partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. They discussed several promising projects and areas for joint efforts.
Dmitry Pantus also held a working meeting with Brigadier General Gery Prebadi, the Head of the Procurement Department of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, where they assessed the current status of ongoing projects and discussed potential areas for future cooperation in the military-technical sector.
The delegation's activities at the exhibition culminated in a significant meeting. Minister Pantus, who also heads the Belarusian side of the Joint Belarusian-Vietnamese Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation, met with Colonel General Le Huy Vinh, his Vietnamese counterpart and Co-Chairman of the Commission. During extensive negotiations, they reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements, discussed issues related to technological cooperation, and identified new collaborative areas for the coming years. The outcomes of these talks are expected to enhance the defence capabilities of both countries and strengthen Belarus's and Vietnam's positions in the global arena.
In summary, the work of the SAMI delegation at VIETNAM DEFENCE EXPO 2024 contributed significantly to strengthening and expanding military-technical cooperation between Belarus and other countries, thus enhancing the Republic of Belarus's defense potential.
